CULTURAL FEST

Sooo…today I was beyond nervous!! It all started when I coouldnt find the right darn out fit!! Of course being tasteful me..I found the perfect one! Then I had to hurry and do by hair..etc. It just was very stressful before my performance! When i finally arrived at the Illinois Room in Student Center East I became even more nervous..My teammates were telling me to relax and one of them told me that this performances most definitely didnt determine my future. Being so stressed out I decided to eata my sorrow away…it was really good finger food might I add! We practiced in a little secluded room just so we could get our last corrections in. I think i did well…Anyway we were up 6th and the suspension KILLED me!!! All those different groups did So well..I was really astonished! Then it was our turn I kid not..I began to sweat…eewwww right? We got on stage and did pretty good!! Did I mention my outfit was really hott!! Well anyway we had to perform in the other half as well… and I could have sworn I almost fell off the stage, but no one told me they saw it so ah well!!! The winner of this competition was determined by how loud the crowd screamed for you and we ended up Taking home third place!..After the competition..the next hour..it was back to practiceing!! Can you believe that because I still cant! Thats dedication for the simple fact that no one had to show up but a large amount of us did. That shows how much we love dance!

Before the Big Day!!

Ok so….Tomorrow is the UIC Cultural Fest and we have to practice practice practice…We got our primo shirts with our nicknames on the back of them and our color scheme. We have to wear red black and white for the first set. Then we have to wear our primo shirts assesorized with black and white only. I asked my teammates how they felt about this upcoming event and they replied pretty well. They all kept telling me that they were cool and that we just needed to practice. We ran through all 9 of our dances back to back…lacking water breaks. Of course we goofed off alot and got in trouble..haha.. but it was fun..The most annoying part of the night was when I had to wait for like 3 dances in a row to be done for the simple fact that i wasnt in them. The first time we did clean ups I messed up by not bringing my work but this time i learned my lesson! Surprisingly no one gets frustrated with eachother. We all want the performance to be percfect, but we did so well not getting mad at one another. There’s this one dance that I just can’t seem to get right, but im in it. They were trying to help me get it together, of course eventually I did because im me, but the point is they showed me the bets way they could. No one on the team has shown any negative attitude so far, and that’s great!!! So we are ALL looking forward to tomorrow and hopefully it’ll be awesome!

Cleaning Dances!!

Hello world!! Today ..well, really yesterday..I had dance practice and I really enjoyed it today. I’m usually tired by the time I get to practice, but today i was weirdly wired!! We got our Primo shirts!! I was really excited, but then we had to get serious. Our dance has to be perfect. Some of the dances are really complex and must be precise. At first I thought..” It’s so many of us how is it possible that all of us can be on one acord”..I know that’s a bit hopeless, but by the end of it i got the picture. We did so good!!! In order for me to have everything perfect i had to really listen to the music. Not just the words..not just the beat …but i had to know all of the lyrics. There are eight counts all over the place! All the time all i hear is ..”1 and2 and 3 and 4 and…”. It can be really confusion at times, but by the end of practice i got it all together!
